catherine + joey | a garden-inspired tented wedding with bright, colorful florals

The florals were bright and colorful, the sky was a bright blue and yet, Catherine and Joey’s smiles were the brightest and most radiant sight all day long. I can’t say enough about how beautiful their summer, garden-inspired wedding was!!

With more than one surprise confetti cannon sendoff, this vibrant backyard tented wedding had the most stunning and lush florals (the floral chandelier was my favorite!) and a tent full of bistro lights to provide the perfect glow as it got dark - enjoy these sneak peeks of Catherine and Joey’s September wedding day!

5 of the most memorable details and moments from Catherine + Joey’s wedding:

1. Her flower girl wore a dress that is a family heirloom and Catherine wore when she was that little.

2. The pops of blue in all of the details… from Catherine’s Loeffler Randall blue bow shoes to her bouquet, the bracelet Joey gave her and the textured invitation suite with blue lettering. The linens on the cocktail tables paired with the cozy wood lounge seating and simple blue and white seating chart, culminating in blue glass goblets and knotted napkins at each place setting were all so perfectly designed!

3. The surprise confetti cannons thanks to Lauren Corrigan Events and her team ensuring they were going off at exactly the right time at the end of the ceremony and on the dance floor!

4. Their #urbanrowpup Mosey, was able to join the fun before the ceremony got underway since they got married at Catherine’s childhood home.

5. The love and immeasurable joy that was felt throughout the day with each speech, warm glance and embrace that was shared.

Congratulations again, newlyweds!! Your wedding celebration was absolutely breathtaking every step of the was; it felt like a dream to be a part of and I hope you continue to always celebrate with confetti sendoffs from now on! ;)

melanie + james | a festive summer wedding at Harwood Farm, Maryland

With a sign that said “we’ve waited 2,932 days for this. party accordingly.”, you can only imagine how incredibly fun and festive this wedding was!

Summertime is their favorite, so Mel + James’ Harwood Farm wedding in early July celebrated not only their love story, but everything they love about summer… bbq, ice cream, sparklers, yummy drinks, bright and cheery summer florals and one heck of an outdoor party with their friends and family. The clouds were super dramatic towards the end of the night and we luckily snuck these portraits and the sparkler exit in right before the sky poured down rain!!

Seeing these two sweethearts finally married involved so much joy, excitement and laughter - seriously, SO happy for you guys!

6 of my favorite details and moments from Mel + James’ modern, romantic and summery wedding:

1. Their first touch while standing back to back and reading notes that they had each written for the other, before their first look. Such a fun way to share a private moment together before walking down the aisle!

2. Mel’s entire bridal look. Not gonna lie, I loved every single thing: her hair, her dress (the straps that draped off her shoulders added such a fun element of romance and intrigue), her bouquet… it all came together so perfectly.

3. The signage, invitation suite and all paper goods designed by Little Orange Studio were modern, crisp, fun and so thoughtfully crafted.

4. The checkered dance floor under the sailcloth tent added elegance, contrast and interest to the party space.

5. The ice cream cart Mel and her family refurbished and stocked with ice cream sammies and bomb pops since it was July 3… :)

6. The biodegradable confetti used as they were announced husband and wife, walking back down the aisle for the recessional as well as the wedding party group photos… SO FUN AND FESTIVE!

Congratulations, Mr. + Mrs. Davis!! Married life looks SO good on you already. I still remember when you shared your engagement news with me - I knew right away that your wedding was going to be an unforgettable day! Your style and vision, your bond and your love story and let’s be honest, your love of dogs, is all so inspiring… you two are destined for big things and I’m so honored I was able to document the official start to your marriage!

erin + brandon | a romantic and timeless maryland wedding

Erin and Brandon had been planning to get married in June, but when the pandemic required their plans to shift, they not only changed their date, but had to change their venue and church as well. Erin sewed floral masks that coordinated with her bridesmaids’ dresses and bouquets in shades of pink while the week before the wedding, they decided to move their reception plans for a ballroom wedding, outside under a tent… these two have been through so much together before ever even walking down the aisle!

The one part of their wedding day that never changed was a location Erin had suggested to me for some of their portraits: the bridge along Paper Mill Rd. on the way to their venue. The architecture and design of the historic bridge is incredible: the entire structure is painted white with incredible lines and geometries to play with as a backdrop for photos… I was immediately OBSESSED and the photos we took here are EPIC!!

Erin had 2 pairs of wedding day shoes ready: sparkly silver Betsey Johnson heels that complimented her jewelry for the beginning part of the day and rose gold sparkly keds with pink laces that worked so well with all the shades of pink in her wedding flowers and photos on a bridge, of course…

Throughout the entire process, they handled all of the challenges thrown at them with so much grace and a positive attitude… but when you get to know Erin and Brandon, you realize that’s just how they are as people. Erin’s smile will light up any room she walks into and Brandon’s relaxed and caring demeanor brings a calm sensibility to every situation.

There’s something so classic about wedding photos in front of red church doors… right? But I also really love the contrast of the next spot we went to for portraits being on the bridge and so full of contrast, lines and shadow to create a unique, modern and creative look!

Cheers, newlyweds - you did it!! You’re married, you looked incredible, you had all the love of so many family and friends, with every last detail coming together so beautifully. While you made it look easy, I hope this is the last pandemic you’ll go through together! ;)

When Logan told me how the proposal story happened, I almost cried happy tears right then and there… “I realized that all I wanted to do was be with her as I stared out the window. I remember saying to myself "Well, that seems to be that...it's time to make sure I can always come home to her".

Logan, you can now officially always come home to Alexis - YAY! Your wedding day was one for the record books… I know your home will always be filled with so much humor, movie/Office quote references and plenty of fajita making nights. :)

A touch of classic detailing in the ringbearer’s seersucker light blue suit and lavender/navy bowtie - loved how Cohen’s Clothiers outfitted this little heartbreaker!!!

Alexis’ wedding dress by Morilee had POCKETS and the best train EVER!!

Pops of blue against the walls and lawns of green were such an elegant look for this spring country club wedding with the sweetest flower girls!!

So many expressions to love when bridal parties line up and CRUSH it like this! Loving the groom’s GQ face and also the ringbearer at the end, living his best wedding life!!

That moment when the fire department walks into your ceremony after the alarms were going off falsely multiple times… yup, that happened!

A cake topped with firemen legos because… see above!… an epic Pittsburgh cookie table and floss moves meant smiles all around! Seriously, we couldn’t love Alexis and Logan more if we tried - this couple had SO much fun at their Memorial Day weekend wedding even with clouds that threatened rain the entire time.

Cheers to you both and all the fun, lighthearted outlook you brought to the day… can we do it all over again next May? Minus the firemen, maybe. ;) It was an absolute dream to be part of your wedding!!!
