"Naomi, I am absolutely BLOWN AWAY by the photos!!! You captured such special moments in the most beautiful ways, all despite some of the weather concerns. You have FAR exceeded our expectations, and we could not be happier that you were our wedding photographers - these photos are going to tell our love story for years and years to come!"

What sets Urban Row Photography apart from other photographers?

With my background and professional degree in Architecture, Urban Row Photography combines a love of people + the places that are meaningful to them; I am extremely passionate about providing a high quality experience that results in wedding photography that is timeless, sophisticated, modern and fun while being a resource for my couples as much as possible from day 1.

What makes your architecture background an asset as a wedding photographer? >

An in-depth knowledge of light, shadow, materiality, detailing, geometry and composition heightens my awareness of the settings I photograph and allows me to scrutinize them quickly. Assessing the best light, the most flattering color tones and the most compelling backdrop for you to whisper to each other before you're even aware of me being there and ready, is key.

How does your personality differentiate you from other photographers? >

I’m upbeat, energetic, positive and super detail-oriented. I have the confidence and experience to be respectfully assertive — an important skill to have when herding cats (ahem, wedding parties), ha! I'm also extremely structured when it comes to communication, contracts and coordination. The more I know about you and your wedding plans in advance, the better I can anticipate and capture those fleeting moments!

How would you describe your style? >

Fun, sincere, dynamic and creative... my photographic style will always include a combination of giving you just the right amount of direction while standing back and letting the natural moment unfold. My editing style is vibrant with subtle contrast. My images are minimally edited for timeless, clean, crisp and natural exposure and color tones. I like my black and whites full of emotion and my colorful images full of... fun (but not overly saturated fun!).

Do you work with a second photographer or have an assistant? >

I do work with a second photographer depending on the details of the wedding (the size of bridal party, logistics of where you're both getting ready all play a role in whether or not a second photographer is needed/recommended); standard coverage is limited to myself as the sole photographer while there are premium collections with more comprehensive options that include heirloom albums and a second photographer.

Where are you located? >

Based in Baltimore, MD (Charm City!)… but happy to travel to DC / PA / DE / VA for your event!

Do you have insurance? >

You bet. I'm happy to provide any certificates of insurance that may be required.

Are you a full-time photographer or is this a hobby/side hustle? >

I'm proud to say I've been a full-time wedding photographer since 2018 and love what I do - I photographed my first wedding in 2012.

Can I see all the pictures from a wedding in one place? >

YES, absolutely! You can see more from each wedding on the blog and I’m also happy to send you a full gallery... just let me know what type of wedding you're considering (waterfront, industrial, garden/outdoor, etc) so I can send you the most appropriate examples!

What does the process look like if we move forward with you as our wedding photographer? >

  • First things first, you’re officially welcomed into the Urban Row Photography family once a signed contract and retainer is received. I accept payment by check, bank transfer, credit cards and a year supply of brownies with a side of boxer puppy snuggles.
  • YAY! I do a happy dance and you choose a location for your engagement photos (I can recommend some that might be a good option, but highly recommend choosing a place that holds meaning to you!). I’ll start snapping and you’ll become semi-pro models in the process.
  • Since I enjoy being organized, digital paperwork is my jam. About 8 weeks prior to your wedding day, I’ll send you a questionnaire to complete that asks for all the pertinent details of your day. We’ll go over it one last time 1 month before your wedding!
  • You then go get yourselves married! We snap away. 8-10 weeks later, you get the gallery delivery you’ve been waiting for!

When should we book with you? >

Believe it or not, there is no such thing as too early! As soon as you’ve booked your venue and officially have a date, I’d love to hear from you. I try to avoid double header wedding weekends to be as fresh, creative and well-rested as possible; it makes me sad to turn people away, so inquire early if there is a date you have your heart set on! Or better yet, before you’ve booked your venue, to find out what dates I don’t have available!

How do we reserve our date? >

I require a signed contract AND 50% non-refundable retainer to officially reserve your date on my calendar. The remaining 50% balance is due 1 month prior to your wedding date.

Can we remove or swap out the engagement session? >

No, it is included as a complimentary part of the process because I feel so strongly that our time together taking photos before the wedding day is what helps result in the photos you're looking for. You can always choose not to schedule one for whatever reason, but it will not result in a discount, additional wedding day coverage or anything else.

What if you haven't worked at our venue before? >

Every venue was new to me at some point in the 10+ years I've photographed weddings! If your venue is one I haven't yet photographed a wedding at, you can rest assured I will visit it on my own time in advance of your wedding day to make sure I know all the ins and outs of the best portrait spots and the logistics to keep in mind.

"From their very first meeting with you, N+B knew you were the perfect choice for them. You made them feel comfortable and relaxed and cared for. Your pictures are breathtaking and I love how you captured the "real" them. I also appreciate how well you interacted with everyone during the busy wedding day - whether helping the boys with their boutonnieres or navigating the busy dance floor to get some great shots, both of you were all over it!
